The city of Toyooka in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan is actively participating in a project to return white storks (designated a protected species in Japan) to their natural habitat. Kaneka selected Toyooka to be the site for a factory, because of its dedication to promoting global environmental conservation. Deeply committed to preserving harmony with the local community, the Toyooka Factory is setting its sights on becoming the world’s leading thin film PV module factory, a role that will become increasingly important in the future.

The present production capacity of 30MW per year for thin film silicon PV module at the Toyooka Factory is scheduled to be expanded to 55MW in 2007. Kaneka makes extensive use of its well-established product supply system to help make this world a better place for all.
